Welcome to YourVets Stechford

Meet our Stechford team

  • Mountaineer, Birmingham marathon runner

I joined YourVets in 2008 as a qualified Veterinary Nurse. Since then I have become the head of theatre at Stechford and love every day of it. I wanted to work with animals as I have a passion for animal welfare and wanted to make a difference to their care.

I am also a clinical coach, which means I mentor our student nurses through their courses and make sure they pass at the end of it. The best part of my job is getting to know our clients and your pets and being able to make a difference to the care they receive. I have two cats, three rabbits and a tortoise. They’re all very spoilt and are very much part of my family.

    Debbie Nelson, Theatre Nurse

  • Cat lover, DIY decorator and passionate amateur gardener

I have been a vet for 7 years now and I joined YourVets Stechford in 2011. I enjoy both internal medicine and surgery.

I have been a fan of animals ever since I can remember. I chose my career as a vet in high school and I have been committed to it ever since. I like communicating and helping the creatures that can’t really tell us where it hurts!

The best part of my job is seeing pets reunited with their owners after surgery procedures.

    Elizabeth Cebulska, Veterinary Surgeon

  • Expert Cook (often for the clinic), cupcake maker

I love going on team building days out with all my work colleagues they are so much fun. I have been at YourVets Stechford for just over a year. I enjoy the variety of the jobs that I do, it is very interesting and I get to help animals which is my main reason for becoming a veterinary nurse.

I have two dogs, One Cairn Terrier called Mazie and a Cairn terrier cross Shih Tzu called Rolo.

    Hannah Smith, Student Veterinary Nurse

  • Proud Mother, expert knitter and Jack Russell walker

I joined YourVets Stechford 8 years ago in 2005 as a Receptionist, I later became Reception Manager in 2010. I enjoy meeting people from all walks of life and on reception that is always possible.

Many of the clients treat me as a friend as that is how I like to treat them, they are my main concern in my role – I like to know they are happy and satisfied.

In this job, everyday is different, one day is never the same as another and that is what makes it so interesting and fulfilling.

    Lesley Toner, Reception Manager

  • Cat Owner, film maker, pet nutrition specialist

I joined YourVets Stechford in October 2012 as a Pet health advisor, since then I have become especially interested in nutrition and weight loss. I currently run the ‘waist watchers clinics’ at Stechford for which I have just won two awards.

Taking knowledge and experience from my degree in Animal behaviour I also really enjoy helping clients with their pet’s behavioural problems.

My favourite parts of the job include giving clients advice on preventative health care, weight loss and behaviour and I am especially looking forward to studying veterinary nursing.

    Nic Mills, Pet Health Advisor

  • Cat owner, arachnophobe,  disco diva

From the age of 2, I wanted to work with animals, I worked for the RSPCA when I was 16 years old and left at 20, I achieved so much throughout my working career but always felt there was more I could do for a career working with animals.

I became a Pet Health Adviser at YourVets Stechford in March 2013. I feel I’ve finally found my ideal place to work and I am very happy in my role.

    Sarah-Jane McGinley, PHA
