Is it my fault my pet is overweight?

Obesity in pets and dogs is extremely common and, like in people, is usually caused by eating too much or not getting enough exercise. By joining the Pet Fit Club you’re doing the best thing possible, helping your pet lose their extra weight.

Why is it important that my pet loses weight?

Lots of problems are associated with being overweight, including joint problems, liver disease, diabetes and skin problems. Overweight pets can also be less comfortable, less able to cope with high temperatures, and less able to play. Many owners are amazed how much more active their pet becomes after he or she has lost weight.

How can I help my pet to lose weight?

The best advice is to strictly follow the advice of your nutritional advisor. They’ll have a good picture of your pet’s situation and they’re in the best position to advise on both
diet and exercise, so why not call us, or pop into one of our open surgeries. There’s no need to book an appointment – just come along with your pet at a time that suits you.
